Case Conversion Reference — 76 Strings, Four Forms Each
Each page takes one real string and shows what the converter does to it in all four modes. The library is organised by where the text is likely to be used, because the right case for a menu item is not the right case for a paragraph.
Frequently asked questions
What does a page in this library contain?
One string and its four conversions: uppercase, lowercase, title case and sentence case. Below them the page lists which form suits which context, the character and word counts, and any edge case the string triggers, such as hyphenated compounds or initialisms.
Why are the counts different from what my word processor reports?
Whitespace is collapsed before counting, so two spaces in a row count as one, and trailing spaces are dropped. Word processors also count non-breaking spaces and soft hyphens differently. The numbers here are what the converter itself would report for the same string.
Need to convert text that is not in this library? Paste it into the CaseLabNow case converter; it works on whole paragraphs, handles line breaks and never uploads your text.
